The route for today

The route from Grand Island to Murdo was entirely on back roads through corn fields and farm and ranch land.  It was very interesting but the driving was slower than going on Interstates.  From Murdo to Rapid City it was all 75 to 80 miles an hour driving on the interstate.

We didn't stop too much along the way but we did manage to get some quilting material for a gift for one of Susan's friends at work.  We also managed to stop at the museum for Pioneer Women.  That was also interesting and covered Oklahoma women from statehood to just a couple of years ago.  I did manage to get a couple of pictures there that are interesting.

We arrived in Rapid City South Dakota and checked into the hotel.  It was a long and tireing day.  Tomorrow Mt. Rushmore and more.

Quilt hanging in the museum                        I hope you can read this.  Susan especially liked it.

These were taken in a little swedish populated town.  Notice that there are no people around.
